Order No. 228 of the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 19 October 2020 on preventing the spread of SARS -CoV-2 among community members of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in the red zone.
Pursuant to art. 52.3 of resolution No. 37 of the Senate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 16 April 2019 the Statutes of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Biuletyn Prawny UMK of 2019, item 120 as amended) in connection with the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 9 October 2020 on the establishment of specific restrictions, orders and prohibitions in connection with the state of epidemic (Dz.U. of 2020, item 1758 as amended) it is ordered as follows:
Article 1
In the period in which the area covering the seat of the University is the red zone within the meaning of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 9 October 2020 on the establishment of specific restrictions, orders and prohibitions in connection with the state of epidemic (Dz.U. of 2020, item 1758 as amended) subject to art. 2 which shall remain in force until 28 February 2021 additional rules are introduced to prevent and combat the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus among community members of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, hereinafter referred to as the "University".
Article 2
- All classes of the theoretical nature and physical education classes provided at the University shall be conducted in a remote mode.
The organisation of education at the University is regulated by a separate order of the rector.
- With the consent of the vice-rector for education, some practical classes (in an on-site and hybrid mode) may be held on the University premises at the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics, the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences, the Faculty of Fine Arts and at the faculties of Collegium Medicum.
- The list of classes referred to in art. 2.2 shall be published by the deans on the website of the faculty by 20 October 2020.
- Student work placements may be implemented with the consent of the dean.
Article 3
Business trips abroad by university teachers, non-academic staff, doctoral students and students of the University shall be suspended.
Article 4
- Conferences, concerts, exhibitions, sports competitions and other events organised by the University shall be cancelled.
- The facilities of the University Sports Center shall be made available only for the following purposes:
1) to conduct teaching classes for the students in the field of study - sports and wellness;
2) to prepare the student sports section for the Polish Academic Championships;
3) to prepare the league teams of the AZS UMK Toruń for participation in national leagues.
- The facilities of the CM Centre for Physical Education and Sport and the Academic Centre for Culture and Art "Od Nowa" shall be closed to their users.
Article 5
The schedule of work of the University Library is specified in the annex to this order.
Article 6
- Resignation from the residence in the student house shall take effect on the date of submitting the request of the said in writing.
- In the event of leaving the student house, the rate for accommodation shall be reduced in proportion to the period of residence in the student house so that:
1) residents who left the student house by the 15th of the month shall pay the half of the monthly rate for their stay in that month;
2) residents who left the student house after the 15th day of the month shall pay the full amount for their stay in that month.
- The settlement of the reduced fee and the return of the overpayment shall take place in the month following the settlement period.
Article 7
In matters not regulated by this order, the following provisions shall apply:
1) order No. 178 of the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 8 September 2020 on the organisation of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 (Biuletyn Prawny UMK of 2020, item 299);
2) order No. 188 of the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 15 September 2020 onpreventing the spread of SARS -CoV-2 among community members of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
Article 8
The order becomes effective as of 19 October 2020.
