8th Conference on Legal History in the Baltic Sea Area

8th Conference on Legal History in the Baltic Sea Area belongs to the prestigious cycle of conferences initiated in 2000 in Germany by Prof. J. Eckert, the Rector of the Kiel University, and by Prof. K.Å. Modéer, a Swedish scientist. The conferences were held in 2000 in Germany, in 2002 in Sweden, in 2004 in Finland, in 2006 in Germany, in 2008 in Denmark, in 2010 in Estonia and Latvia, in 2012 in Germany. In 2015 the conference was organized for the first time in Poland – in City of Toruń. The theme of the conference was read: „Judiciary and Society between Privacy and Publicity/ Justiz und Gesellschaft zwischen Privatsphäre und Öffentlichkeit” and comprised two original issues. The first was the family and the inheritance law history in the Baltic Sea Region, while the second – the openness in judicial and administrative procedure as well as the information control in the latest legal history.

Der VIII. Rechtshistorikertag im Ostseeraum gehört zur renommierten Veranstaltungsreihe, die 2000 in Deutschland von zwei Professoren J. Eckert, dem Rektor der Universität zu Kiel und K.Å. Modéer, dem schwedischen Hochschullehrer gegründet wurde. Die Konferenzen tagten 2000 in Deutschland; 2002 in Schweden; 2004 in Finnland; 2006 in Deutschland; 2008 in Dänemark; 2010 in Estland und Lettland; 2012 in Deutschland. 2015 fand die Tagung zum ersten Mal in Polen – in Toruń statt. Die Tagung des Jahres 2015 verwendete den Titel „Judiciary and Society between Privacy and Publicity/ Justiz und Gesellschaft zwischen Privatsphäre und Öffentlichkeit“ und fasste zwei originelle Themen um. Das erste war die Geschichte des Familien- und Erbrechts im Ostseeraum; das zweite – die Öffentlichkeit im Gerichtsverfahren und in der Verwaltung wie auch Informationskontrolle in der Rechtsgesichte.

VIII Zjazd Historyków Prawa Państw Nadbałtyckich należy do prestiżowej serii konferencji zainicjowanej w 2000 r. w Niemczech przez profesorów J. Eckerta, Rektora Uniwersytetu w Kiel oraz K.Å. Modéera, uczonego szwedzkiego. Konferencje odbyły się w 2000 r. w Niemczech, w 2002 r. w Szwecji, w 2004 r. w Finlandii, w 2006 r. w Niemczech, w 2008 r. w Danii, w 2010 r. w Estonii i Łotwie, w 2012 r. – w Niemczech. W 2015 r. konferencja odbyła się po raz pierwszy w Polsce – w Toruniu. Konferencja nosiła tytuł „Judiciary and Society between Privacy and Publicity/ Justiz und Gesellschaft zwischen Privatsphäre und Öffentlichkeit” („Sądownictwo i społeczeństwo między sferą prywatną a publiczną”) i obejmowała dwa oryginalne tematy. Pierwszym była historia prawa rodzinnego i spadkowego w regionie nadbałtyckim; natomiast drugim – jawność w postępowaniu sądowym i administracji oraz kontrola informacji w najnowszej historii prawa.
